Inheritance
During my time doing my Game Enterprise Masters course i worked upon a game called Inheritance. This game project is a 3D rougelike game set in a dystopian sudo-realistic world based on the scandinavian bronze age. The player gets to fight their way though the horrors of this world as they journey deep down into a forgotten civilasation to collect materials to survive and expand their village. With every death the player will play as their successor inheriting the power from the previous run. During this project i worked mainly on the AI on the project and how they interacted with the player.
There were two main types of AI the first were Humanoid enemies. Within Inheritance there are only two different humanoid AI's. They are shown below:
Obsessed Obsessed Ranger
The Obsessed Ai was the most basic Ai that was in the game. it would go towards the player and would attack with a sword swing while staying a certain distance away from the player. During the design process of the AI i decided to change it from a Finite State Machine to a Behaviour Tree. Below is videos to show the change.

The second humanoid AI was the Ranged Obsessed. This AI was a more complex AI that had a lot of differernt variations. These variations happened after research sessions where I had learned about more techniques. This AI worked by trying to keep its distance from the player to attack using its bow attack.

The second type of AI were called creatures. These were the AI that were a bit more advanced and had multiple attacks. The different AI that comes under this section is the Goliath, Marionette, Feil and the Welper AI. These are shown below.

The Welper Ai was the AI that went through multiple different iterations. These iterations would happen for different reasons it could be because of design changes in the group or the time that i needed to research, create and test the new systems. The final version worked by charging at the player and then it would expload after a set amount of seconds.
